Kildrum Y Centre - The Y is involved in providing a wide range of localised activities and also accommodates a variety of independent user groups - this section is currently being updated and will be available soon

 

Kildrum Learning Centre - Established as part of the YMCAs commitment to the local learning plan this state of the art learning centre with an internet IT suite is used for a variety of learning opportunities for all ages.  The Autumn programme is currently being developed based on the response from our recent survey. However if you are a Kildrum resident you can still influence the programme by calling Iain Sinclair on 01236 721380.

 

The centre is also available for use by local community or interest groups. Please call in to discuss your needs

 

Peace Mind for Parents (POMP)Out of school care – was established in 1989 in response to Kildrum parents who needed safe, accessible, quality childcare o give them ‘peace of mind’ while they were at work or leisure. Quality out of school childcare provision is an essential service to communities and impacts on the social and economic development of children, families and local business. We now operate a POMP service from 18 locations serving over 50 schools and providing essential childcare for local families and creating local jobs.

 

Foyer – through its ‘one-door’ approach assists young people especially those who are economically disadvantaged to access and sustain training, employment and affordable accommodation. One to one counselling and customised support packages facilitate personal development and learning opportunities. 

Supported Accommodation – was developed to provide a secure, caring and supportive environment for young people who find themselves homeless or at risk in our community.  Individually agreed support packages including inter-agency work facilitate young people towards an independent and productive lifestyle of their choosing. 

Youth  & Learning – aims to provide opportunities with and for young people to facilitate personal development. Programmes include access to; training opportunities, education and environmental activity, fitness, sports, counselling, advice services and drop-in facilities. 

Health & Fitness – endeavours to provide a range of opportunities for those from 16 years and over to develop their attitudes and skill in relation to personal health and fitness. The fitness gym is used primarily for teaching safe practice and enables the user to control and develop their personal fitness regime. Aerobics and related training classes are made available to encourage exercise.

 

Sport Related Activities - include Netball; Athletics; Hillwalking; Football (Street league)
